Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) stops women ovulating, and it’s the world’s leading cause of infertility. In this article, we explain how PCOS supplements with Myo Inositol & D-Chiro Inositol in a 40:1 ratio is getting amazing results in treating PCOS – and why some Inositol supplements fail to work.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) stops women ovulating, and it’s the world’s leading cause of infertility. It can also cause irregular periods, weight gain and a range of other unpleasant symptoms. Whilst the NHS estimates that it affects 1 woman in 10, it’s also known that lots of women have PCOS without being diagnosed. In fact, the World Health Organisation states that 70% of women with PCOS – that’s millions of women worldwide – don’t know they have it.

What symptoms does PCOS cause?

Women with PCOS have enlarged ovaries that contain lots of fluid-filled sacs called follicles, which surround the eggs. Despite the name, these aren’t actually cysts.

There are two forms of Inositol, and polycystic ovaries have them in the wrong proportions. The result is that they produce too much testosterone and other male hormones (androgens) and very irregular, fluctuating amounts of estrogen and other female hormones.

The symptoms include:

  • Very irregular or infrequent periods
  • Irregular ovulation or no ovulation – which results in low fertility or infertility
  • Insulin resistance and weight gain, especially around the midriff. This can even lead to type 2 diabetes
  • Unwanted facial and body hair
  • Acne
  • Thinning hair or even male pattern baldness.
  • Low or erratic sex drive
  • Depression.

How do ovaries become this way? Ovaries contain two different types of inositol to keep them working properly. Healthy ovaries contain almost entirely myo-inositol (MI) and just 1% D-chiro-inositol (DCI). In contrast, for women with PCOS, almost half the inositol is D-chiro-inositol.

Why taking Myo-Inositol alone may not work

Inositol is a type of sugar found naturally in fruits, beans, grains, and nuts, and also made in our kidneys to help us process insulin and keep the ovaries healthy.

Since polycystic ovaries have too little myo-inositol, it seems logical to take inositol supplements that just contain myo-inositol. Surprisingly though, this doesn’t get great results and fails to cure PCOS in many cases.

Thorough clinical studies on women with PCOS have found that inositol supplements with both Myo Inositol and D-Chiro Inositol together, in a 40:1 ratio, worked best to resolve PCOS and improve insulin sensitivity.

VitaBright Inositol supplements have this effective and proven dosage, with 3900mg of Myo Inositol and 100mg of D-Chiro Inositol. This formula can reach the ovaries to resolve PCOS; produce fertile eggs, regular ovulation and periods; and help stabilise blood sugar.

Taking VitaBright Myo Inositol & D-Chiro inositol supplements is easy

Since you need to take Inositol 3 times a day, we turned it into tablets that you can chew, crush into food or swallow whole – however you prefer. This makes these PCOS supplements easy to take regularly, even while you’re out and about. They’re slightly sweet tasting but fairly bland.

You need to take 4 tablets a day. This is more than some alternative PCOS supplements, which don’t give you a dose that’s proven to work in clinical trials!

To tackle PCOS and produce healthy mature eggs that are ready to conceive, you need to take our clinically proven Inositol supplements formula for 3 months. Most women start seeing benefits sooner than this.
